kod: SOM22-102 | wersja: 10.20

This four-day course introduces students to the essential concepts and usage of the Storage Operations Manager (SOM) software. SOM is part of Business Service Management solutions.

Working with SOM 10.20 includes using the SOM UI. Students gain a thorough understanding of Storage Resource Management (SRM) concepts, the functionality of the software, and its application to typical storage implementations. Other topics in the course enable participants to use SOM Reporter.

The course consists of focused, task-oriented lectures, text, and a series of detailed hands-on labs to teach the course material to the student. The hands-on labs use version 10.20 of the software.

Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Describe Storage Operations Manager (SOM) key features, functions, and components
  • Plan, use, and configure SOM licenses
  • Identify the foundations and structure of the SOM architecture and describe how components communicate within the architecture
  • Describe, perform, and manage the SOM discovery procedures for hosts, switches, and storage
  • Configure the management server for discovery, data collection, monitoring, object groups, rule-based host inference, and security
  • Use dashboards to obtain the latest information, navigate topology maps, and access details of storage inventory
  • Identify the foundations and structure of the SOM Reporter (Operations Bridge Reporter) and describe how OBR components communicate with SOM
  • Use and customize the SOM Reporter to obtain canned and custom reports
  • Identify how to log data and troubleshoot SOM
