European Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF)
Increasing legal requirements for cyber security in the EU and the imbalance between the demand and supply of specialists in the field result in the need for further investment in retraining and developing professional skills in the area of cyber security.
European Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF) was developed by the European Union Cyber Security Agency (ENISA) in 2022. The framework is designed to help understand what qualifications, skills and competencies are needed in the cybersecurity field and how knowledge and experience in this area can be assessed.
The ECSF defines different skill levels in cyber security, making it possible to clearly identify where a person is in his or her career in the field. With this framework, employers, employees, as well as educators and training institutions can better align education and professional development with the demands of the cyber security job market.
ECSF analyzes 12 profiles in cyber security, facilitating the understanding of responsibilities, competencies, and the creation of training programs in the field, which is crucial to the growing demand for cyber security professionals.
