CISSP Exam – Key Information
The CISSP exam validates knowledge across eight key areas of security and confirms that a candidate has the competencies needed to effectively design, implement and manage a cybersecurity program. The CAT exam includes 100–150 questions, lasts up to 3 hours, and requires a passing score of at least 700 out of 1000. CAT, or Computerized Adaptive Testing, is an adaptive computer-based exam in which the difficulty level of questions changes dynamically based on the candidate’s answers. CISSP exams are delivered at Pearson VUE test centers.
To earn the full CISSP certification, candidates must have at least five years of cumulative full-time professional experience in two or more of the eight CISSP exam domains. Candidates who pass the exam but do not yet meet the experience requirement may become an Associate of ISC2 and have six years to gain the required experience.
