Fortinet Joins Forces with Microsoft
Fortinet - the pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced that it has become the newest member of the SecureIT Alliance, a group of industry partners working together to develop security solutions for the Microsoft® platform. As a member, Fortinet is able to collaborate earlier and more interactively with Microsoft and other Alliance members, and such collaboration will in turn allow it to respond more quickly to customer inquiries and concerns over vulnerabilities.
The SecureIT Alliance is a web-enabled collaboration forum between partners to help members build innovative new security solutions and to communicate with customers about security solutions and partnerships. The Alliance provides a forum through which members can receive new platform information from Microsoft, and collaborate on issues such as secure-code best practices, interoperability, and integration of products and services, as well as public communication of security solutions content.
"As a multi-threat security leader, Fortinet is a welcomed addition to the SecureIT Alliance," said Gerry Albert, at Microsoft, as Director of SecureIT Alliance. "With its global FortiGuard™ Network of security researchers, Fortinet provides an additional level of security expertise and solutions that will benefit both industry collaborators and IT professionals who rely on the Alliance to drive their development and decision-making."
"As hackers become craftier, security companies must become more innovative in terms of thwarting attacker advances," said Richard Stiennon, chief marketing officer for Fortinet. "SecureIT Alliance calls security thought leaders and innovators to action by giving us a forum in which to collaborate and communicate on the most dangerous and pressing industry matters. This alliance extends the benefits of Fortinet?s FortiGuard Network to customers, by enabling a broader research network and more attention and faster response to critical vulnerabilities and potential threats."
