Extreme Security Fundamentals Rev 3.0

The Extreme Security Fundamentals training class provides instructor-led lectures and extensive laboratory exercises. The course presents the concepts and commands required to secure Extreme Network switches and control traffic within a network. The primary audience for this course is network switch adminstrators tasked with securing and controlling the traffic in an Extreme Networks switch environment. The course is based on ExtremeWare® XOS™ 11.3.

3. Description and configuration of switch access options
4. Description and configuration of port based security
5. Description and configuration of MAC-based security
6. Description and configuration of DoS-Protect
7. Description and configuration of Network Login
8. Description and configuration of sFlow
9. Description and configuration of policy-based Quality of Service (QoS)
10. Description and configuration of access lists (ACLs)
11. Description and configuration of CLEAR-Flow feature

Theoretical and practical understanding of networking basics, including: TCP/IP addressing/ submasks, bridging, and other LAN fundamentals. Also a knowledge of ExtremeWare XOS configuration and troubleshooting techniques is needed - these prerequisites can be met by attending the Extreme Configuration Fundamentals (ECF-200/5) classes.

The participants will obtain certificates signed by Compendium - Education Center. This course is also a prerequisite for Extreme Network Specialist (ENS) certification.
