Exam FCNSA

As companies around the world continue to invest in their security infrastructures, they are also looking for a ways to validate the knowledge and skills of their network operations staff. In response to this, Fortinet has recently introduced the Fortinet Certified Network Security Associate designation (FCNSA). This designation certifies that individuals have the expertise necessary to manage the day-to-day operations of FortiGate devices in support of specific corporate policies. Certification not only enriches an individual's professional development, but it also offers many benefits to an organization by providing a reliable benchmark to evaluate skills and knowledge.

Individuals with the FCNSA designation need to have a solid understanding of the day-to-day configuration and monitoring of FortiGate devices as well as a general understanding of the entire Fortinet product family of services and hardware.

The Fortinet Certified Network Security Associate (FCNSA) exam is broken down into the following seven sections (40 questions):

• Knowledge of Fortinet Product Family
• General understanding of FortiGate Feature and Functionality
• Familiarity with FortiGate Admin Interface
• Configuration of Firewall Policies
• Configuration of Virus Scanning & URL Filtering
• Understanding of Basic FortiGate Maintenance
• General Networking and Security Knowledge

Fortinet provides a number of resources ranging from white papers, to classroom training courses, in order to assist candidates in their pursuit of Fortinet Certification. The following steps represent the suggested approach to obtaining the Fortinet Certified Network Security Associate designation.

• Be familiar with the information in your FortiGate Installation Guide and your FortiGate Administration Guide.
• Attend the 925-101 course OR purchase the course materials and complete all of the labs.
• Install and configure a FortiGate unit in Transparent mode
• Install and configure a FortiGate unit in NAT/Route mode

Required Score: 65%
