2023 Value Of IT Certification Candidate Report

Pearson VUE have released the 2023 Value Of IT Certification Candidate Report, which shares the experiences of more than 21,000 professionals in 176 countries who have prepared for and earned IT certifications with Pearson VUE. The report is the eighth edition of an ongoing series and provides an up-to-date picture of the value of certification from the candidate's perspective.

 

 According to the survey, it appears that earning IT certifications is gaining in popularity. This year's survey proves that the value of certifications is appreciated by employers but most importantly, by candidates.

 

 What prompted so much interest in IT certification? As many as 74.8% of candidates indicated that the main reason for certification was to gain new skills and knowledge. On the other hand, 58.8% of candidates earned certification in order to receive a promotion in their current job.

 

The most desirable certification directions have become:

• Cloud Computing selected by 16.1% of candidates
• Cybersecurity and Security, selected by 22.6% candidates overall
• Networking and Wireless, selected by 12.8% candidates
