GDC Air-Gapped Practitioner Fundamentals is a three course series that prepares platform administrators and application operators to perform essential functions for their roles in Google Distributed Cloud.

      • Navigate the GDC console, gdcloud CLI, or APIs to execute GDC practitioner’s responsibilities and tasks.
      • Configure GDC IAM to manage access to resources.
      • Provision and administer VMs.

  • Compute, Network, and Storage Services Configuration in GDC
    • Objectives
      • Establish services for the GDC platform and demonstrate how the platform utilizes Kubernetes architecture and components.
      • Articulate the benefit of working declaratively to deploy workloads and manage the Kubernetes environment.
      • Provision storage buckets and grant access to them.
      • Deploy and operate a database cluster in GDC Database Service.
      • Explain how GDC networking features enable you to isolate and interconnect workloads based on project needs.
      • Identify the requirements to maintain GDC platform security and demonstrate the use and management of crypto keys.

  • AI Services and GDC Deployments and Operations
    • Objectives
      • Determine the appropriate use cases and identify the implementation of GDC Vertex AI pre-trained APIs.
      • Execute operational management tasks within your GDC environment.
      • Identify methods to manage GDC software upgrades, configure logging, and monitor billing and costs.
    • Activities
      • 1 quiz (at the end of the course series)

Prerequisites

The training is technical and primarily targets DevOps, System Administrators, and Developers. Prior knowledge should include:

  • Essential Linux and networking skills
  • Core Kubernetes concepts
  • Infrastructure and cloud fundamentals
