Camelot is a framework for developing desktop database applications at warp speed. It is to desktop applications what Django is to web applications. Some see it as a replacement for MS Access, but its tight integration with SQLAlchemy enables a vast amount of more advanced features and possibilities.

This tutorial style course will enable you to get started with your own Camelot project. We will tackle the hurdles met when going through the lifecycle of a desktop application

    • Introducing SQLAlchemy features and look on their interactions with graphical interface.

    • Qt's model-view-delegate framework and its use with Camelot.
    • Fully customizing the graphical interface to our needs.
  6. Deployment and users
    • Deployment options and list of things to be aware of when submitting and application to its users.
  7. Q & A
    • Camelot problem resolving in group.

Additional information

Prerequisites
  • Basic knowledge of Python and object oriented programming is required.
  • If you don't know Python it is strongly recommended to take Python for Programmers before this course.
  • The SQLAlchemy course is not mandatory, but is strongly recommended.
  • QT or PyQt knowledge is not needed.

Traditional training

Sessions organised at Compendium CE are usually held in our locations in Kraków and Warsaw, but also in venues designated by the client. The group participating in training meets at a specific place and specific time with a coach and actively participates in laboratory sessions.

Dlearning training

You may participate from at any place in the world. It is sufficient to have a computer (or, actually a tablet, or smartphone) connected to the Internet.
